OLD
GLORY
There are
some who might think me foolish
But I'm glad
that in times such as these
That my heart
will still pound and still flutter
When I see
Old Glory flying in the breeze.
For I think
of the price that's been paid
By so many
who entered the fight
So that all
that Old Glory embodies
Would be ours
in each dawn's early light.
I think how
the faith of my fathers
Has blessed
us in so many ways
And I pray
that I too will be faithful
Throughout
all my years and my days.
To the
highest and best God will offer
As He seeks
to reveal to us all
That if ever
we spurn and forget Him
Our lives and
our nation will fall.
But if we
will be true to these precepts
For which
many have given their all,
We'll
continue to know His rich blessings
As we heed
and then answer His call.
So I'm proud
that I live in a country
Where God's
freedoms we share and we save,
And I'm ready
to do what I need to
That Old
Glory still proudly can wave.
